The legendary entertainer Bob Hope once said: “If you watch a game, it's fun. If you play it, it's recreation. If you work at it, it's golf.” Kalamazoo has numerous opportunities to watch, play, or work at a variety of different recreational sports and events, including golf! The City of Kalamazoo has thirty-six parks and tot-lot playgrounds, including Bronson Park and the Farmer's Market on Bank Street. In addition, the Parks & Rec Department is proud to offer many recreation and leisure programs for youth, adults, senior citizens, and citizens with disabilities. All programs are open to anyone who wishes to participate, regardless of the challenges they face.
