10/25/12 - Metro Transit to Host Community Leadership Event
Metro Transit will be hosting a community leadership event to help connect community members with organizations and to provide an opportunity for people to learn about the area's public transit system.

The event will be held on Monday, November 5, from 10:45 a.m. to 12:45 pm., starting at the administration offices at 530 N. Rose. Attendees will be given a tour of the Metro Transit facility. They will then board a bus, travel to the Disability Network for a brief tour, then return via bus to Metro Transit. Representatives from several human services agencies and organizations throughout the community are planning to participate.

The goal of the event is to provide an opportunity for people who don't typically use public transportation to travel on Metro transit fixed route buses and learn about local organizations.

People interested in participating should register by calling Metro Transit's travel trainer at 337-8856 or emailing steeles@kalamazoocity.org. Bus fare for the event is not provided but transfers can be used for the return trip.

The mission of Kalamazoo Metro Transit is to provide the community with public transportation services that are dependable, convenient, safe, cost effective, and accessible for all.
