Kalamazoo, June 7, 2012 - In order to better serve the new Exchange Building and Corporation Hall projects and improve utility dependability Consumers Energy will be replacing all of their underground power systems in Exchange Place from Rose to Kalamazoo Mall and in Corporation Alley from Exchange Place to DeVisser Alley this summer. The City of Kalamazoo will also be replacing water and sewer mains in these alleys. It is anticipated that the work will commence on June 11, 2012 and completion is expected on or about August 20, 2012.

To facilitate the work Exchange Place will be closed to vehicular traffic between Farmers Alley and Rose Street and Corporation Alley will be closed from DeVisser Alley to Exchange Place. Pedestrian traffic will also be limited to the routes shown on the attached sketch.
