4/30/08 - Groundwater Protection Movie Theater Ads

An article about the City of Kalamazoo's groundwater protection movie theater ads appears in the May issue of "The Aquifer", a quarterly publication of the Groundwater Foundation. The Groundwater Foundation is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and motivating people to care for and about groundwater.

The groundwater protection movie ads have been running as part of the pre-movie trailers at the Kalamazoo 10 and Rave City Place 14 Theaters in Kalamazoo. The ads cover such topics as the fact that groundwater is the source of drinking water in our county, groundwater properties, the need for groundwater protection, the proper disposal of hazardous household products to prevent groundwater contamination and the proper management of activities on our property to prevent pollution from entering city storm sewers and ultimately polluting creeks, streams, river and lakes. This project was funded by a grant from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.

The City of Kalamazoo is committed to advancing the public's health, safety and economic welfare by providing leadership, services, information, and support for the citizens, businesses, and visitors of Kalamazoo.
