Fall Leaf Collection Program 2016

Update, 04-11-2017
: City crews will do a two-week sweep through the City collecting any leaves raked to the curb or in paper yard bags.  Residents should have their leaves out for pick up no later than Sunday evening, April 16th. This pick up will NOT include any other yard waste or brush.  --As you plan your outdoor Spring cleaning, please know you may also take advantage of the April Spring Clean Up to get rid of a broader range of yard waste.

Reminder: Information on this page applies only to those addresses/residents within the City of Kalamazoo municipal boundary.  Please check your township website or local office if you are located in any of the surrounding townships.

Fall Leaf Pick-Up begins on Monday, October 31, 2016.

This service is based on weather demands as the crews who remove leaves also plow snow.

Leaves need to be out by 7 a.m. on the Monday for your designated area. Reports of misses will not be taken until the crews have made a complete sweep through each section. This best utilizes crew’s time and efforts, and ensures the most productivity.

Residents should avoid placing leaves near mail boxes, utility poles and landscaped areas.

Residents must separate leaves from brush (branches or twigs).

Anything other than leaves or bags weighing more than 50 lbs. will NOT be taken.

There will be no pick-ups on Friday, November 11; Thursday, November 24; and Friday, November 25.

There are two scheduled pick-up dates for each area. However, depending on the weather, the second pick-up may not take place. Residents whose leaves are not taken need to store them until April 2017 (when the Spring Clean-up takes place) or take them to a private, fee-based drop-off site.
