Project will include a repaved road surface and improvements to bike lanes, curbs, and drainage

A project to improve Miller Road between Emerald Drive and Sprinkle Road is scheduled to start on Monday, May 2.

The project will include milling and resurfacing with new asphalt, narrowing vehicle lanes, and widening bike lanes. Manhole covers along the street will be repositioned for a smoother driving surface. Broken curbs will be fixed and excess vegetation behind the curb will be removed. In addition, a trench system will be installed under the railroad bridge to mitigate water pooling and improve drainage. New guardrail will also be installed along the bridge.

Construction is scheduled to be completed in August. This $720,000 project is funded by a grant from the MDOT Transportation Economic Development (TED) fund and the City’s 2022 Major Streets Fund Capital Improvement budget.
