Lead Safe Training for Renovation, Repair, & Painting on September 27

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will offer a free Lead Renovation, Repair, and Painting Training on Wednesday, September 27 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kalamazoo County Michigan Works! Southwest Service Center (1601 Burdick Street).

This lead safe training is required for anyone renovating or providing maintenance service work for homes, schools, or daycare centers built before 1978. The training will include a presentation of modules, hands on exercises, and an exam.

The training is free to attend, but space is limited. Those interested must preregister online or by calling Public Health & Safety, Inc. at (312) 491-0081 between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. To participate residents must work or live in the local area, be at least 18 years old, and be able to provide proof of Michigan residency with Michigan State photo ID.

Certified Lead Professionals are essential to protect our community from lead exposure. This training is funded by the EPA and taught by Public Health & Safety, Inc.
