Pay Current Property Taxes

Property taxes for the year are split into two bills. One is issued in the summer and one issued in the winter.

Summer tax bills are mailed by July 1 and are due by July 31. Summer tax bills can be paid all at once or in six monthly payments. To pay in installments, just pay the first installment amount stated on your tax bill by July 31. We will provide a statement each month for the remaining payments, and there are no interest or penalties when payments are made on time.

If the installment amount is not paid by July 31, a one-time 3% penalty will be added to your balance, and 1% interest will be charged on the first of each month.

Winter tax bills are mailed by December 1 and are due by February 14 of the following year. Winter property tax bills must be paid in full.

If either tax bill is not paid by March 1 of the following year, they become delinquent and must be paid to the Kalamazoo County Treasurer.

Note: the payment processor charges a 2.8% service fee (minimum $1.50) for credit/debit card payments and a $0.85 service fee for electronic checks. This is collected by the processor and applies to payments made online, by phone, and in person.

Online

Step 1.Visit the BS&A Online Portal

Online payments for tax bills can be made using the BS&A Online portal. Visit the portal using the link below. If you're not already there in BS&A, click "Current Tax Payments" from the left hand menu under the "Online Payments" heading.

Step 2.Locate Your Property

Search for your property in BS&A. You can search by the address, parcel number, or your name. If the search returns multiple results, click your property from the search results.

The taxes due will be shown near the bottom of the window. Enter the amount that you wish to pay and click "Pay this Invoice".

Step 3.Make Your Payment

Once you click "Pay this Invoice", you will be directed to a payment page that will look different from BS&A (don't worry!). The page will prompt you to review your "cart" and display your account, name, address, and amount to pay. If this is correct, click the Checkout button.

Enter your payment information. If you want, you can create an account to save your payment information or set up recurring payments. If not, just click next.

Step 4.Review and Submit Payment

Before submitting your payment, review all information to ensure it is accurate and select a payment date. If everything looks good, agree to the terms and conditions and click Submit. A payment confirmation will be displayed in your browser, and you will receive a copy to the email you provided.
