Kalamazoo to Celebrate 25 years as a Tree City USA this Arbor Day

Community members are inivited to join us as we celebrate Arbor Day in Kalamazoo and our city's 25th year as an Arbor Day Foundation Tree City USA on Friday, April 27!

Members of the Tree Committee and the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board will join Mayor Hopewell and community members to mark the occasion by planting six trees at Spring Valley Park. Dawn Redwoods, Oaks and Tulip Poplar trees will be planted. The tree planting will begin at 2:00 p.m. at 2606 Mt Olivet Road. Volunteers are welcome and encouraged to attend and assist with the planting.

You can RSVP on Facebook here.

Thank you to Consumers Energy for their generous donation of two trees for the event, and to Adams Outdoor Advertising for their generous donation of advertising!

To qualify as a Tree City USA community, a city must meet four standards established by the Arbor Day Foundation and the National Association of State Foresters:
-have a tree board or department
