All currently registered vendors and bidders will receive a notice in the mail encouraging them to register in the new system by December 1, 2019.

All businesses that currently work with the City of Kalamazoo, as well as any businesses that would like to be notified of future bid opportunities, are encouraged to register at www.kalamazoocity.org/purchasing. When registering, each business will be required to provide their contact information and the commodity codes that are applicable for their business (commodity codes are standard classification codes for products and services). When the City has bid opportunities, each business registered with the applicable commodity codes will be notified by email. Detailed registration instructions are available online.

“This system is more consistent with how organizations are doing business now and simplifies the process for business owners,” noted City of Kalamazoo Purchasing Manager, Michelle Emig. “We are committed to reaching as many businesses as possible, especially Kalamazoo-based businesses, so we are really encouraging everyone to sign up and have the opportunity to work with us.”

The system also allows businesses to easily keep their contact information up-to-date, and view purchase orders, invoices, and their bid history. The system will be expanded in the future to allow quotes to be submitted or updated online.
