Join us to find out how you can become a certified lead professional. As a certified lead professional, you would be able to work on lead abatement projects and help create healthier communities. Lead abatement projects involve comprehensive construction skills with a focus on lead remediation.

Work can involve:

  • Changing windows.
  • Painting.
  • Wet cleaning methods.
  • HEPA vacuuming.
  • Wet scraping.
  • Removing and replacing lead-contaminated soil.

Lead exposure remains a serious public health issue, especially for children. Certified lead professionals are trained to remove lead-based paint and lead-contaminated materials from homes, making them safer and healthier places to live. This work is in high demand and can lead to stable, well-paying jobs in the construction and environmental health industries.

Training Details

  • Dates: August 18–20, 2025
  • Time: Training begins daily at 8 a.m. and last until 5 p.m.
  • Location: 1601 S Burdick Street, Kalamazoo, MI
  • Cost: FREE
  • Eligibility: Must be 18 years or older
  • Registration is required
  • Full attendance is required to achieve certification
