The City Treasurer's Office will close at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 18. The office will reopen with regular hours on Friday, December 19. Payments can be made in the drop box at City Hall or online.

Preferably, all structures will stay on their original site within a historic district. Each structure is a product of its time and location and contributes to its original site. Sometimes a structure may be moved into a historic district to replace a structure lost to fire or some other catastrophe. Occasionally a larger project will displace a structure and moving would be preferable to razing.
Houses may be moved within a district to a new site or from outside the historic district if the structure is appropriate for the new site and the scale of the structure complements other structures nearby. The considerations for new construction such as setback and scale can also be applied to moving a house to a new site.
Site plan review from the planning and zoning departments will also be required. It is strongly recommended that a joint meeting be convened with planning, zoning and any necessary building officials for planning the move. The coordinator will be able to arrange this meeting.
