Drew Duncan is a committed public servant with a strong background in workforce and economic development. At the W.E. Upjohn Institute for Employment Research, he helps employers strengthen their talent pipelines and connects Kalamazoo residents to training, upskilling programs, and quality job opportunities.
Drew is a first-generation high school and college graduate, former foster youth, and lymphoma survivor. His lived experience shapes his focus on housing stability, strong neighborhoods, and practical solutions that support Kalamazoo’s most underserved residents.
In addition to serving on the City Commission, Drew serves on the boards of the People’s Food Co-op and Can-Do Kalamazoo, supporting small businesses, local food systems, and entrepreneurship. He is passionate about expanding opportunity, increasing transparency in local government, and building a Kalamazoo where every resident has the chance to thrive.
