The City Treasurer's Office will close at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 18. The office will reopen with regular hours on Friday, December 19. Payments can be made in the drop box at City Hall or online.

We expect all landlords and property managers in the city to provide safe, sanitary housing and to respond to their tenants needs. If you have an issue with a rental property and your landlord or property manager won't help, please let us know.
Please note that the City of Kalamazoo is not involved in civil matters such as payment disputes, rent reimbursements, or lease agreements or disputes. For these matters, please contact Kalamazoo Public Safety non-emergency dispatch at (269) 488-8911 or seek private legal advice.
Before reporting an issue to the City of Kalamazoo, please contact your landlord or property manager about the issue in writing. Provide a reasonable amount of time for them to respond. If they are unresponsive or the issue is not resolved, please continue and report it. We will ask you to include the written notice as part of the report.
If the issue is an emergency (no heat, no water, no electric, sewage, structural failure, etc.) call your landlord or property manager right away. If they are not responsive, please call us at 311 or (269) 337-8000.
Complete the Rental Service Request form and provide all of the relevant information about you the property and complaint. We will ask you to upload a copy of the written notice that you provided to the landlord or property manager. This notice can be a scanned letter, a photo of the notice, and email, a screen shot of text messages, or anything that can be documented.
