Apply for a Building Board of Appeals Hearing

Step 1.Before You Apply

You will need to provide a plan, section, and elevation for the building that will be the subject of the hearing. Prepare these documents before applying and include them with your application. You can also include photographs if they help demonstrate the condition of the structure.  

Step 2.Submit an Application

Complete the application and return it by mail to:

Make sure you sign the application and include all required documentation.

Step 3.Review and Scheduling

Your application will be reviewed by our Building & Trades staff. They will reach out to you to confirm the date of your hearing and arrange payment of the hearing fee.

Visit the Community Planning & Economic Development Office and pick up a copy of the application:

Complete the application and return it with supporting documentation to our office during regular business hours. You can also mail it to the address above or scan the application and email it to development@kalamazoocity.org. Make sure you sign the application and include the required plans and documentation.
