It is the intent of the CCTA to enter into a contract for the purchase of Hybrid Bus Battery Refresh Kits with Installation.
REQUIREMENTS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR HYBRID BATTERY REFRESH
THIS IS SPECIFIC TO THE FOLLOWING COACHES

ESS REFRESH SHALL INCLUDE:
• Allison authorized genuine OEM replacement components or equal
• Allison authorized and certified installation or equal
• Replacement consisting of the Allison ESS2 refresh package part # 29551338
• Including sub packs 1-6 that consist of the following
1. Fan relay
2. New assembly bolts
3. Data tag
4. Latest ESS2 relay components
5. Required terminal replacements
6. Gaskets
• In addition to the above kit, all electronic components noted on quote per parts list are to be replaced with new, except for the fan assemblies. This will include, but is not limited to the main relays, resistors, fuses, sensor assemblies and internal harness. All necessary gaskets and seals will be replaced with new. Again, all parts will be Allison genuine or equal and labor will be performed by Allison certified technicians.

Include removal of the ESS unit to ground level; utilizing Allison approved safety procedure and replacement procedure outlined in Allison SM4162 H 40/50 EP Energy Storage System (ESS) service manual. All replacement procedures performed using only Allison authorized or accepted tools and equipment. New id plate will be installed per Allison protocol. The TCM will be re-flashed to the new SID utilizing the Allison ep40/50 service tool. An Allison TAC case will be opened and all the appropriate and required information will be provided to ATI (Allison Transmission Inc.) Indianapolis IN, for future reference. After completion of procedure, the unit will be stationary tested using the approved Allison service tools and road tested by an Allison certified trained technician or equal experienced in this procedure, verifying the replacement components and procedure meet the Allison established requirements- no exceptions. All work performed will be done so in an Allison approved facility or equal, by Allison certified technicians- no exceptions. Pick-up and delivery to and from the maintenance facility in Kalamazoo, MI will be included in the price. The work performed will have an Allison extended 5-year warranty or equal. Warranty information must be attached to quotation. This will provide 100% coverage for labor and parts for a total of five (5) years from the date of installation no exceptions.
