Food Drive

The City invites community members to participate in a food drive to help support residents in need throughout the Kalamazoo community.

Donations of non-perishable food items may be dropped off at City Hall (241 W. South St) during regular business hours, Mon - Fri, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m starting on Wednesday, November 12 through Thursday, November 20. Requested items include cereal, canned goods, boxed meals, shelf-stable products, and snacks.

The food drive will benefit Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes.

• Jelly/Jam
• Cereal
• Canned Soups and Stews
• Meals in a Box (e.g. Hamburger Helper)
• Shelf-Stable Almond or Rice Milk
• Baking Mixes (e.g. Jiffy or Bisquick)
• Protein Drinks
• Canned Meat Shelf-Stable
• Soft Tortillas
• Granola Bars and Snacks
• Microwaveable Meals and Items (e.g. Rice)
• Special Diet Foods (e.g. Gluten-Free)
• Cooking Oil

Not Accepted (For safety reasons)

• Rusty, badly-dented, or unlabeled cans
• Homemade items
• Non-commercial canned or packaged items
• Alcoholic beverages or mixers
• Open or used items
• Non-perishable items over one year past the expiration date
