Join us for a free, four-day Lead Supervisor Training in Kalamazoo and take the first step toward becoming a certified lead professional! This certification will qualify you to work on lead abatement projects—helping to eliminate lead hazards from homes and protect families from the harmful effects of lead exposure.

Lead exposure remains a serious public health issue, especially for children. Certified lead professionals are trained to remove lead-based paint and lead-contaminated materials from homes, making them safer and healthier places to live. This work is in high demand and can lead to stable, well-paying jobs in the construction and environmental health industries.

What You’ll Learn

As a Lead Supervisor trainee, you’ll receive hands-on training in essential lead abatement methods, including:

  • Replacing windows and doors
  • Painting with lead-safe practices
  • Wet scraping and wet cleaning
  • HEPA vacuuming
  • Removing and replacing lead-contaminated soil

This training prepares you for real-world work on job sites, where you'll be helping to improve housing safety and community health.

Training Details

  • Dates: April 6–9, 2026
  • Time: Training begins daily at 8 a.m. and last until 5 p.m.
  • Location: 1601 S Burdick Street, Kalamazoo, MI
  • Cost: FREE (the training is free but there is a fee for the certification exam $125-150)
  • Eligibility: Must be 18 years or older, must have two years of construction experience to become a supervisor.
  • Registration is required
  • Full attendance is required to achieve certification
