This project includes replacing a 12-inch water main and 8-inch water main with a single 24-inch water main from Park Street to Burdick Street. It also will replace fire hydrants in the area and includes water service work including lead water service replacement. Once complete, the road will be resurfaced with spot concrete curb and gutter replacement, spot concrete sidewalk and ramp replacement, and pavement marking work will also be done due to water main construction activities.
Balch Street will be closed to traffic but local access will be maintained. There will be local boil water advisories issued as new water main is connected to the system. Affected properties will be notified in advance before any planned disruptions to their water service.
This project will be completed in 2024 and will take approximately 12-weeks. A firm start date has not been scheduled as the work is being coordinated with nearby work on Westnedge Avenue to reduce the impact to traffic as much as possible.This page will be updated with a schedule once one is confirmed.
