The City of Kalamazoo has selected Camoin Associates to develop a city-wide economic development strategy, marking a significant milestone as the city's first comprehensive plan in over a decade. This initiative, launched in January and slated for presentation to the City Commission in July 2024, aims to chart a course for the next five years for the Community Investment team.

With a commitment to equity and inclusion, the strategy will take a holistic approach, prioritizing the principles of Shared Prosperity Kalamazoo and addressing the needs of the ALICE population. To ensure diverse perspectives are heard, the consultant will facilitate small virtual focus groups throughout March and April, including small business owners among others. This project signifies a concerted effort to foster sustainable growth and opportunity for all residents of Kalamazoo.
