There is no May 7 Election for voters in the City of Kalamazoo. In Kalamazoo County, only voters in Mattawan Consolidated Schools, Plainwell Public Schools, and Mendon Public Schools have an election on May 7.
In 2024, street lighting will be upgraded on several streets near WMU: California Ave, Fraternity Village Dr, and W Michigan Ave. Additional street lights will be added and existing light poles will be retrofitted with better lighting to improve safety in these areas. We expect this work will be completed in the spring of 2024 and will not significantly impact traffic. In 2023, major sidewalk improvements were made in these areas to increase pedestrian safety as well.
