We flush the water system every spring and fall to remove minerals that accumulate in water mains and improve water flow. Flushing doesn’t affect water safety, but you may want to delay doing laundry to avoid potential discoloration of clothing. The City of Kalamazoo is investing approximately $1.5 million in sidewalk improvements in 2026 as part of its ongoing commitment to safety, accessibility, and neighborhood connectivity. This year’s project includes targeted sidewalk replacement, new sidewalk construction, and additional improvements at locations throughout the city.
