At its Committee of the Whole meeting on March 4, Community Development Manager Sharilyn Parson provided a presentation on Kalamazoo's housing ecosystem. The presentation gave an overview of what goes into developing housing and how the City of Kalamazoo works with developer partners to address the community's needs. Using several recent developments as examples, Ms. Parsons discussed the various incentives that are needed to provide affordable units for people at incomes ranging from very low to market rate, and how even market rate housing can help people attain affordable housing.
