Boil Water Advisory Lifted: Charles, Cooper, Washburn, Ira, Lum

As of Wednesday, October 7, 2025, at 8:30 am, the precautionary boil water advisory issued October 5, 2026, has been lifted by the City of Kalamazoo, in cooperation with the Kalamazoo County Health and Community Services Department. Citizens in the affected area can now use City water for consumption as well as all other purposes. Bacteriological sampling within the affected area verified that the water is safe to drink. The affected area, is as follows:

  • Charles Avenue- From Cooper Avenue (western boundary) to Lum Avenue (eastern boundary), south side of roadway.
  • Cooper Avenue- Only includes the northeast corner of Cooper Avenue and Charles Avenue.
  • Washburn Ave- Only includes the northeast and northwest corners of Washburn Avenue and Charles Avenue
  • Ira Avenue- Only includes the northwest corner of Ira Avenue and Charles Avenue.
  • Lum Avenue- Only includes the northwest corner of Lum Avenue and Charles Avenue.
