Residents impacted by the April flooding can now apply for federal disaster assistance through FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Apply for a Non-Structural Maintenance Permit if before you do any work that isn't structural- things like re-roofing, residing, or window work.
Print and complete the Application for a Non-Structural Maintenance Permit and return it by mail to:

Make sure you sign the application. You can also scan the application and email it to constructionpermits@kalamazoocity.org.

Your application will be reviewed by our Building & Trades staff. They may contact you if additional information is necessary. If your permit is approved, you will be notified by mail and receive an invoice with the total permit fees. Payment instructions will be included with the invoice. Review and approval of permits can take up to two weeks.
Apply for Other Permits
Depending on the scope of work, other permits may be necessary. Make sure you submit applications for electrical, plumbing, building, or other permits if necessary.
Visit the Community Planning & Economic Development Office and pick up a copy of the permit application:
