Notice of Funding Availability
The City of Kalamazoo anticipates allocating $120,000 in Federal grants from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the 2027 Program Year, (July 1, 2027 - June 30, 2028)
These funds will be directed towards public service activities. Fundable activities must be eligible under the rules and regulations of HUD, must be consistent with the City of Kalamazoo’s 2025 – 2029 Consolidated Plan(PDF, 13MB), and must assist low-income persons within Kalamazoo’s city limits. Organizations must also be a 501c3 nonprofit organization to apply.
Mandatory Application Submission Training Sessions
Organizations must attend one of the mandatory virtual training sessions to be eligible to apply:
- Training Session 1: Tuesday, August 11th from 11:00 a.m. to approx. 12:00 p.m.
- Training Session 2: Thursday, August 13th from 2:00 p.m. to approx. 3:00 p.m.
To RSVP for a session please email cpedcompliance@kalamazoocity.org at least 30 minutes prior to meeting start time and a return email will provide the meeting access information.

About Federal HUD Grants
The City of Kalamazoo receives Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) funding each year from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This funding is used to improve neighborhoods, meet urgent needs, or help low income people in our community.
