Community Development Act Advisory Committee (CDAAC)

The Community Development Act Advisory Committee (CDAAC) reviews applications from community organizations for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership Program funds and makes recommendations to the City Commission for the allocation of these funds. The board meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room at City Hall. 

Board Member Residency Requirements: CDAAC members must be city of Kalamazoo residents and are selected for expertise in areas like real estate, non-profit experience, business ownership, education, special needs, housing, urban development, and similar areas. The board must include one representative from each eligible CDBG neighborhood (as determined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development) that has an active neighborhood association with 501(c)3 status. 

CDAAC members serve three-year terms, limited to two consecutive terms with a three-year break.
