The Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) hears requests for variances from the Zoning Ordinance, provides interpretations of the Ordinance, and hears appeals regarding administrative zoning decisions. The ZBA hears the following types of requests:
- Dimensional Variance: relief from physical or dimensional standards that apply to a lot or structure.
- Use Variance: relief from standards that apply to how a lot or structure is used
- Administrative Appeals:relief from decision related to zoning made by the CPED Staff
- Interpretation of Ordinance: request to confirm the precise meaning of the ordinance text
- Temporary Use Approval:approval of temporary use with a duration of more than 30 days
- Natural Features Protection: relief from standards that apply to protected natural areas

Scammers are using publicly available planning, zoning, historic preservation, and development information to send fraudulent invoices that may appear to come from City staff. These messages may include accurate information about your property, project, application, or hearing. Always verify the invoice amount and payment instructions before paying. The City will not request that you pay by wire transfer.
