2025 Lead Water Service Replacement

This project will remove and replace approximately 1,550 non-copper water services from the water system in the Edison Neighborhood.

2026 CWSRF Biosolids Management & Wastewater Infrastructure Projects

The City of Kalamazoo will hold a public hearing on the proposed 2026 Clean Water State Revolving Loan Fund (CWSRF) Project Plan to receive public comments. The plan includes improvements to the Kalamazoo Water Reclamation Plant Biosolids Management and Collections System within the Central Business District and Kleinstuck Preserve.

Arcadia Creek (Westnedge Ave)

The City of Kalamazoo is launching a transformative, multi-year project to rebuild and increase the capacity of Arcadia Creek. This effort will reduce the risk of flooding, protect local infrastructure, and support sustainable growth in the heart of the city.

Announcement : This project will start Monday, July 7. Westnedge Avenue will be closed from Kalamazoo Avenue to Michigan Avenue. Traffic will be detoured via Michikal St.

One lane of Westnedge Avenue is planned to open between Water Street and Michigan Avenue starting August 14.

The City of Kalamazoo was awarded a $1.5 million grant to fund safety improvement projects at 30 locations in the City in 2025. The projects will improve safety for vulnerable road users (VRU) like pedestrians and bicyclists.
